Dog Bone Asteroid: Clear pictures of Solar System's most mysterious asteroid seen for the first time, like dogs' favorite lunch

Many strange things are seen in our universe, but recently something has been seen which will excite not only humans but dogs too. Actually, scientists have shown an asteroid within the shape of 'dog bone' which also has two moons. The interesting question that has arisen with this discovery is how did of these three come together?

Astronomers discovered the asteroid Kleopatra in 1880 within the belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, but over the past few decades it's been discovered that it's a rather different shape which it also has two moons. The scientist kept watching it with the assistance of the Very Large Telescope located in Chile. Frank Marchis, who did new research on this, has told that this can be a singular object in our system.

Frank is an astronomer at the SETI Institute in California. They believe that with the assistance of Kleopatra, it'll help in gathering more information about the Solar System.

In 2008, Marchis and his companions saw both the moons of Kleopatra. they're named AlexHelios and CleoSelene after the kids of the famous Egyptian queen Kleopatra. After this, scientists kept a watch thereon and between 2017-2019 more new information was found.

New data was found with the assistance of the Very Large Telescope's Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet Research (SPHERE) instrument. SPHERE can clearly see Kleopatra and its moons, located about 200 million miles from Earth. it's also fitted with a high-power adaptive optics system which will clear images from blurring caused by the Earth's atmosphere.

Researchers took pictures of Kleopatra with its help and it had been seen how both the moons revolve around it. It also showed that earlier models weren't correct. Scientists understand gravity and mass with the assistance of the relation between an object and its moon. Many things can fail in understanding the category.

With the assistance of recent data, scientists found that Kleopatra's mass is 35% which is high as previously estimated. this provides accurate information about its size. it's not very dense. However, scientists believe that it's made from metal. Maybe there's lots of empty space between the rocks.

Scientists found that its moons also are made from this. Actually, Kleopatra is spinning so fast that it throws it's part outwards. In step with the researchers, because of the collision with the debris, most material initiates to spin together and it turns into the moon. it's also possible that more moons are revolving around it. For this, instruments like ESO's Extremely Large Telescope are awaited, which might be launched by the tip of this decade.
