Black Hole News: Indian scientists discovered 3 huge black holes, why is this rare discovery important?


Indian scientists have discovered not one, but three supermassive black holes. Of these are found in interconnected galaxies. this can be a rare event and it's clear from the most recent study that they're more likely to be seen in galaxy clusters formed after such merger. The Department of Science and Technology said that supermassive black holes are difficult to detect because they are doing not emit any light, but they'll be detected by their effect on the encompassing universe.

The department has said in its statement that when the supermassive region swallows dust and gas, energy and nonparticulate radiation is released from it. this can be called Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). Their ionized particles and energy are released into the galaxy. This causes the galaxy to expand.

The team of researchers from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics conducted this study unitedly with researchers from France. From India it included Jyoti Yadav, Mousumi Das and Sudhanshu Barve. They were studying NGC 7733 and NGC 7734 after they saw something strange emitting from the middle of NGC7734. Something similar was seen bright near the arm of NGC7733. Its speed was different from that of the Galaxy.


Scientists assumed that it had been alittle galaxy named NGC7733N. The study, published in Astronomy and Astrophysics, used data from the Ultra Violet Imaging Telescope mounted on ASTROSAT, India's first space observatory. other than this, the infrared images obtained from the MUSE telescope installed within the Very Large Telescope in Chile and also the astronomical telescope in South Africa were also studied.

There also are huge black holes at the middle of those galaxies. With the merger of two galaxies, the black holes present in them also equal to every other but they can't merge. within the presence of a 3rd part, they transfer their energy thereto and blend with one another. Two black holes are seen in such galaxies, except for the primary time, three supermassive black holes are found.
