The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Wednesday successfully conducted a significant test associated with its Gaganyaan program. For this he also got a congratulatory message from Elon Musk. ISRO had successfully conducted the third long-duration thermal test of the Vikas engine. This engine is not ready to launch the Gaganyaan mission.
When ISRO tweeted to inform about this on Wednesday, a comment came on it from Elon Musk (Elon Musk congratulates ISRO). It read, 'Congratulations India.' The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is currently preparing for the Gaganyaan mission. Gaganyaan is that the country's first manned mission to be sent to space. It will be launched with the help of liquid propellant development engine.
According to the news of news agency PTI, ISRO said in its statement that this test was done for L110 liquid stage of GSLV Mk 3 vehicle as per the engine qualification requirement for Gaganyaan programme. It was told that this test was done at the testing center in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. Keeping this in mind, the engine met the test objectives during this era and therefore the engines were in conformity with the quality estimates throughout the trial period.
The objective of the Gaganyaan program is to demonstrate the ability of an Indian launch vehicle to send humans to low Earth orbit and bring them back to Earth. Union Space Minister Jitendra Singh had said in February this year that the primary unmanned mission is planned to launch in December 2021 and therefore the second unmanned mission in 2022-23 and thereafter manned spacecraft.
